House/Team Leader

45 hours per week (Mon – Fri) * includes out of hours on-call rota and occasional weekends in line with the service needs and agreed in advance*

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Supported by our Ofsted Registered Service Manager, this role will be responsible for leading a team of support workers in the day-to-day delivery of individual support plans and activities, so that our young people can achieve their goals. Working in a fast-paced environment and under the direction of the Service Manager, the House leader will undertake regular reviews of agreed support plans to ensure the needs of our young people are continuously being met effectively. 

The post holder would also be expected to support and participate in the duty on-call rota (Additional Pay Rate Applied)

Working closely with outside agencies and other professionals in a collaborative manner, House Leaders will also be expected to deputise on occasions and will be encouraged to undertake further training to enhance their performance and future career opportunities.

Applicants should have previous experience working in a support worker role with young people who are leaving care/at risk of being homeless and those who display behaviours that challenge.

Applicants should also display leadership qualities and a solution focused approach to problem solving.

Career Progression: The post holder will be supported to enrol in various training sessions and courses which will support them with success in this role. This can also include the Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care. This qualification, will equip post holders with the necessary expertise to develop further in their career.

Support Worker

35 hours per week (inc nights and weekends) 

Salary: £12.21 per hour

A&V Transitional Homes offers a range of support for young people aged 16-25 moving from looked after services. We prepare, educate, and assist young people leaving care so they are equipped enough to overcome the difficulty’s that may arise when moving onto independent living.

We are looking for highly motivated, caring and compassionate individuals, with a proven track record and the skills and attributes required, to work within our group living accommodation staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week, as part of a team of support workers. Successful candidates will be required to: -

  • Support clients with day to day tasks to be able to live a full and independent life.
  • Work positively with other staff within the team, delivering a flexible, person-centred service to the client transitioning from leaving care to independent living.
  • Act as an advocate for the client so their voice can be heard.
  • Assist and encourage further education, apprenticeships jobs and engaging with official agencies.
  • Support the client and their support needs by agreeing goals, planning how these will be achieved and meeting regularly with the individual to support them to achieve this, and reviewed regularly.
  • Encourage clients to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Complete all administration work as required using a computer.
  • Continuously work within and implement our policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality and health and Safety regulations.

Hours are worked on a shift basis covering 7 days a week including nights & weekends. Applicants should have previous experience dealing with young people who are leaving care and those who display behaviours that challenge.

Experience:
Support Environment: 6 months (Required)
Support Worker: 6 months (Required)

Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (Preferred) will be required to work towards
if successful.
